Dancers who attend our main class regularly are expected to become members. This does not apply to those attending the Skills class, who are not expected to be members. In the Autumn and Spring terms, anyone who only joins us occasionally may attend up to three main classes as a non-member in any dancing year. Members and non-members are welcome to our Summer term classes.
Members of the Bristol Branch are also members of our parent organisation, the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS). Our annual membership subscription is modest, and most of it goes to the RSCDS. The details are on the Membership Form; to join, please print and complete the Membership Form and return it to the Membership Secretary with the current membership fee, as described on the form.
If you are already a member of the branch, your membership is due for renewal in September. Existing members should have received a renewal form by email. Otherwise, see the membership form for how to renew.
As well as providing access to all our classes, being a member gives you the following additional benefits:-
Personal details are only kept for contacting members with RSCDS information and will not be passed on to any other organisation. These details will be kept on both branch and RSCDS headquarter databases, but telephone numbers will not be included in the information passed on to headquarters. Electronic communication is thought to be the fastest and most effective means of communication with members and will be used where possible. Those without an email address will get paper communications.
Because we are a charity, we can claim Gift Aid. If you are a UK income tax payer in the current year, you can increase the value of your subscription by completing and returning a Gift Aid declaration at the bottom of page 1 of the Membership Form. Please print and sign the declaration and return it to the membership secretary. Thank you.
